Uveitis: A presenting sign of both secondary syphilis and HIV Infection

The presence of a palmoplantar rash with uveitis is highly suggestive of syphilis but even without skin manifestation, it is prudent to screen all patients with uveitis for syphilis which can lead to blindness if left untreated or treated late.
